Got the good news Saturday at the Garden State Horror Writer's meeting.
I came in second in the 13th annual short story contest for my story "Gods of Baseball."
A big thanks to Mike Purfield, who ran the contest, and all the judges. I know it's a lot of work, 'cause I ran the contest a few years back.
What sets the GSHW short story contest apart from most others is that each entry gets three critiques. This year the final round had a panel of celebrity judges (Ellen Datlow, Gregory Frost, Elizabeth Massie and Gordon Linzer) and they also provided critiques.
In other contest news, I found out that my finalist story for WotF did not win. But it may be one of the published finalists in the anthology. I won't know until next year.
